I've been getting Andrew Harper newsletters in the mail lately. Have you seen those things? The resorts and exclusive properties featured look sublime! But there must have been a glitch in their mailing list when they crossed it with what they think their target demographic is, because I would never imagine spending that obscene amount of money on a hotel.
Swagger is nice, but I prefer places (and people!) with authenticity, character, and soul. Under $100 is ideal. $125 is a compromise. $150 is a stretch. But what do you know? They're out there and here are my faves.

We ended up here on accident not realizing that it is in the same property as THE Restaurant at Meadowood, Michelin star restaurant and multiple James Beard awardee. I really don't need to be spending $600 on a meal which is about what you would spend at The Restaurant, so I'm happy to have lunch next door where the dining is more casual and yes, affordable.
