Remember that the historic part of Sassi di Matera is a pedestrian only zone. There is parking or taxis that could you bring you right outside this area, and you're on your own from there. Forego the heels - it's a stupid idea.

Our stay at B&B Solo Sud was unforgettable. Our host, Paola, carefully restored the property we stayed at that she tastefully decorated with antiques. Accommodations come with delicious traditional breakfast - conversations with fellow guests from all over the world and Paola herself included!

For dinner, I would highly recommend Osteria L'Arco. The ambience is beautiful, the service prompt, and the food delicious.
